MIRA collects MVR 16.79 billion as revenue in 2019

The statistics published by MIRA show that during the year 2019 MIRA collected total of MVR 16.79 billion. Collection of 2019 has resulted in an increment of 2.7% compared to 2018 and this amount is 2.9% more than the amount forecasted for 2019.

The top revenue contributor for the year 2019 was GST with 46% share of the total revenue or MVR 7.74 billion. The second largest contributor was BPT at 17% share of total revenue or MVR 2.90 billion. Other significant contributors include Tourism Land Rent (MVR 1.65 billion or 10%), Green Tax (MVR 850.27 million or 5%) and Airport Development Fee (MVR 728.91 million or 4%). The revenue collected in the year 2019 includes collection of USD 653.07 million.

The total revenue collected in the month of December 2019 is MVR 1.56 billion. This collection shows a growth of 8.9% compared to December 2018. Main reasons behind this increment are the significant increase in TGST, Withholding Tax, Airport Service Charge, Tourism Land Rent and Lease Period Extension fee compared to December 2018.

The greatest share of revenue collected for December 2019 is attributed to GST with MVR 658.04 million or 42.1%. The second largest contributor was Tourism Land Rent (MVR 361.95 million or 23.2%). Other significant contributors include BPT (MVR 120.96 million or 7.7%), Lease Period Extension Fee (MVR 76.7 million or 4.9%), Green Tax (MVR 68.79 million or 4.4%) and other taxes and fees (MVR 277.03 million or 17.7%).

The revenue collected in December 2019 includes collection in USD of USD 66.1 million.
